If the rest of us acted like Dan did we would all drift off. The result would be - no more trips to the rigs. Amazing that 99.999% of the divers who go there surface in the rigs or within 30 feet of them. Buddy pairs break up and all involved manage to stay in visual contact with the structure. Every dive briefing that I have ever heard in the past 7 or so years that I have been diving the rigs has always inculded - usually 3 or 4 times - "don't loose sight of the rigs".
