Yesterday at the breakwater the salvage team was clearly
folding their tents, er, liftbags, and going home.
The salvage tug departed Monterey while we were having
dinner at the Charthouse.
Last night's 10 p.m. news on Ch 35 (Fox, Salinas) said that
the wreck had started to break up and was being left where it
is. There is still diesel on board, and it would be removed
in the near future. It was described as one mile from Monterey
Harbor and is named "Albion".
Nothing that I could find in this morning's Herald.
