Colorado has more divers per capita than mpst states. Cherry creek dam is a hot spot for inland divers. There are also many high mountain lakes to dive in. Yes it is fresh water and sometimes murky.
Get cave trained and learn about hazardous Gas filled mines that have not been visited for 100 years. Exteemely dangerous and filled with cave ins and snags but relaively virgin.
There is a nice spot in Leadville to dive. How often can you dive a lake at 11,000 feet??
