We had planned on doing a beach dive or two last weekend somewhere on the O.C. coast, but the heavy rain on Thurs. and Fri. prompted us to try Catalina/Avalon instead. Our expectations for visibility were not high, even though it was Catalina, due to the recent rain. As we were unpacking our gear at the diver prep area, a local who was swimming laps around the dive park buoys stopped by and told us that the viz was this good only once or twice each year. With that bit of information, we couldn't get into the water fast enough. And we weren't disappointed. The visibility was extraordinary. At least 70ft, if not more. I've posted a dive report, along with some nice photos at:

Best regards to all.
