Byhaving a 1st stage that drops cylinder pressure down to intermediate levels, the second stage breaks it down to what you need at your mouth. I habe never had a 2 stage reg that did anything other then breathe flawlessly.
Resorting to a double hoses system just adds new skills needed to clear without giving a benficial tradeoff, so I fail to see any benefit to this. Now attach a counterlung to it, some redundant voting logic p02 controllers, a c02 scrubber, and a diluent and 02 cylinder and now we're talking.
