I've been on a couple of boat trips out of Ventura Harbor during the last 3 months and believe that at least remnants of the KSDC went with us. I know in the past there has been controversy regarding adherance to F&G regs., which I can't vouch for one way or another, but I truly admire the way that sea water seems to flow in these guys' veins. I felt they were really 'tuned in' to the ocean and had a much greater appreciation for the many ways that the sea can sustain us - both physically, and spiritually. In comparison with these divers, I still felt very much a 'land creature'. I think their attitude toward the ocean is quite similar to that of the aging free-divers described in the article.
