You can have both Firefox/Mozilla and IE on your computer at the
same time. One or the other will be the default web browser. I
run with Mozilla as the default, but use IE for a few sites that
don't work with Firefox/Mozilla. Firefox/ Mozilla is somewhat
intolerant of incorrectly formed HTML, while IE is especially
tolerant of the incorrectly formed HTML, especially that generated
by the microsoft tools (which tend to forget things like END tags).
The number of sites that don't work with Firefox/Mozilla is getting
quite small.

The biggest part of the security problem with IE is that:

1. The virus writers target IE, mostly because it's the most
common

2. IE users don't usually update their IE. Run Windows Update
weekly (Wed. or Th. would be a good choice for the non-nerd as
updates come out on Tu., and if MS realy messed one up, it should
be fixed by then.
