An 11-year-old Newport Beach boy was bitten by a sea lion that jumped onto his surfboard Thursday. Lifeguards had cleared the water off Crystal Cove State Beach around 2 p.m. after the sea lion was observed barking and chasing children in the surf. The boy, who hadn't heard the warning, was bitten on his knee. He was treated by lifeguards.
