While everyone argues the merits of wings, plates, jackets, etc., here is what you do: try on a few different styles made by reputable manufacturers such as scubapro, oceanic, seaquest, zeagle, etc. ... find one that feels comfortable then just go for it, you will be fine! too many make this harder than it should be. get what feels good on YOU and then go out and have fun diving it. try it on with a tank. if it feels good out of the water, it will feel even better in the water. (honestly, it will)
