I'm saddened to hear of Mr. Royer's passing. He wrote a couple books on diving and his navigation book is still used today. I remember him sitting in his chair playing with the cat or talking to people when I came in. Every time I saw him I thought of old salts of the sea. He just looked like an old time sailor, white hair and all. I kept hoping I would see him again every time I visited since I know he's been sick for a while. Still it's somehow a shock to me, he just seemed like one of those landmarks you expect to see forever or an institution. He was a truly gracious person and had time for anyone no matter how he felt at the time. I will definately miss him.
