There are lots of good local dive boats. You just have to check out what the charter is going to do on the trip. If it's a class boat then you are going to get three shallow dives at less challeging sites that's just the way it is.
All local boat's are very expensive. Most have added a $25 charge for food and air on top of the charter price. Lets see two air fills that's 8 dollars and then a $17 hamburger on day old bread. That's the way it is to, when the boats owners get together and price fix.
It's funny they can get together to price fix but can't get together to set standards for divemastering, site skill levels,or dive boat air standards. Most are true professionals, the oldest profession.
That's just the way it is.
