We did a dive on the old Big Bear Lake dam Saturday morning. The
surface temp was a nice 62, but 5'-10' ft down it dropped to 54. On
the foot of the dam at 58 ft (not the bottom of the lake per-se)
it was 49... and the water was crystal clear, but dark enough for a
light thanks to the thick algae layer between 5' and 40'.

There are lots of big trout and catfish in that lake, really BIG.
