The original post asked for "Dive Shop Recommendations". Sports Chalet is a sporting goods store with a dive department.

With few exceptions the SC scuba employees I've dealt with have been nearly clueless. The requirements to work scuba are too low and the turnover rate is too high for most employees to really develop a knowledge of the products they sell or of scuba in general.

I get free air fills at Sport Chalet through my dive club. Still I willingly pay for fills at a dive shop because I want good fills and got tired of teaching SC employees how to properly fill tanks.

What in my post makes you say, "Sounds like you don't like the competition with over priced dive shops"?

My post was based on quality of service not cost.

"I have only been diving for just over 33 years"
Longevity does not equal knowledge.
