My last visual was $20 a tank, which included an air fill (3500 PSI 120 ft3). They also showed me the inside of the tank to show it was perfectly clean (I was concerned about a bad boat fill). This was at my regular shop in the San Fernando Valley. I feel its reasonable especially since they did it on the spot.

I suspect the reason air fills and visuals have gotten pricey is liability insurance (driven by greedy lawyers who sap the life blood out of America). I don't blame the shop or boat owners.

I would agree that the shop should have comped the air on the 13 ft3, especially since you took the others in at the same time, but the inspection of it takes about the same amount of time and has the same liability exposure with that of a large tank so its not surprising. Another reason to retire the pony...
