I'm quoted in the link to the 1999 post as saying that there's a CA law about dive flags (in reference to the divers getting run over at Eagle Reef back then).

There is no such law (that I know of - there is a recommendation from the US Powerboat Association). In fact, I don't recall making that post or making that statement.

Note that the post in question is from Seahunt, not me. Not sure why my name is on the bottom. I do recall making some comments on rec.scuba (which I can no longer access) and don't know if this is distilled from that or not. Some of it sounds like my style - some of it does not.

But I seem to recall from those discussions almost 6 years ago making statements (or doiscovering - don't really remember which) that there was NOT a law that covered this.
