have to say that i hadn't been on the ole' pacific explorer/aquatica in quite some time until this last chamber day...capt. manny ran a great ship with food that was better than most of the fleet...while i'm at the point most weekends, the local dive boats offer much more of the local experience and the crews are always eager to help....
"the point" is a great intoductrury dive, but to truly experience so. cal. diving, one needs to experience the local dive boats, whether it be out of san diego, long beach, san pedro, ventura, or santa barbara..
we truly have world class diving off of our shores, it's just that it's just a little different than the caribbean or the south pacific...
