As Chair of the California Ocean Protection Council, I would like to invite you to the next meeting of the council on September 23, 2005, 10 a.m., Scripps Institution of Oceanography, Scripps/Eckart Library, 8755 Biological Grade, La Jolla, California.

The California Ocean Protection Council was established pursuant to the requirements of the California Ocean Protection Act (S.B. 1319) that was signed into law by Governor Schwarzenegger last year. The council consists of Council Chair, Secretary for Resources Mike Chrisman, State Lands Commission Chair, Lieutenant Governor Cruz Bustamante, Secretary for Environmental Protection Alan Lloyd, and two ex officio members, Senator Sheila Kuehl and Assemblymember Pedro Nava. The council will help coordinate and improve the protection and management of California’s ocean and coastal resources.
