I too, took a long hard long at this camera. There are a lot of features I liked. I like Nikon, I like the 8 megapixs and I liked the price. The two things that caused me to cross it off my list. Was the lack of TTL ability underwater as you pointed out and ... some where I read that the vibration reduction feature. Does not work with flash. I can't live without TTL. I don't think they make the camera for me yet. With the features and price I desire. So I patiently wait. Besides I just dropped 20 grand on college expenses for kids. I feel like I have been shot with a spear gun ;-)
