The dog and I went swimming at the ramp and it was fine. The security guard kept looking at my backpack that I had left on shore because it was near a tour bus - I suggest using a locker or the baggage storage instead. They have a little snorkel shack set up on the road that sells fish food, snorkel stuff etc. They might be a good source of information on how to best see the critters. At least one giant black sea bass hangs out in there. The biggest hazzard that I saw was the not so water savvy first time snorkelers, I'd keep my distance from them. Have fun.
