Don't misunderstand, given extreme instances I'd use any means at hand to prevent injury or death to my divers...

HOWEVER, as a "fix" to the ongoing problem, it might be a bit limiting, and will put people in jail, but it won't be the clueless boaters.

Then there is the whole thing about waving weapons around with the Coasties and other HLS folks out there. I don't think they'd shoot first, but ya' never know.

In all honesty most of the divers I know could easily be mistaken for terrorists.
