Using a Olympus C-4000 and just adjusting white balance, I've taken very acceptable pictures in 80+ feet of water off the coast here (Avalon Johanna Smith, Monfalcon and Olympic). With clarity and even minimal light, along with the WB adjustment you can do a good job of documenting your UW forays.
