Went down to do so simple under water clean up @ Newport Pier (just being a good diver and taking care of our environment!) and after going thru all that sweating of gearing up a life guard (a uninformed one at that) came over and informed me there was no diving alowed durning day light hours. Hmmmmm??? I was a bit hot under the collar in more ways than one.At lest she could have told me before I doned all my gear. Sooooo Off to the Marine Control office (located on the peir)and started to ask questions. Well folks after a short time of maybe 1 minute iI was happily again gearing up and heading out! So if you are around Newport and are told by a short(but good looking)blond life guard that there is no diving go stright to the head man and get the REAL word about your diving rights.
