I stayed in Ka'anapali last year and I can tell you if you only have one day save the time and money and dive the Honolua bay / Mokule'ia bay area. I spent hundreds of dollars to go out to dive Molokini and then found this area and would have saved the money. Here's how easy and close it is. Just north of you is Kahana {maybe a mile or two}, there is a Maui Dive Shop there, then head north another 4-5 miles Just past Kapalua the road gets curvy and narrow there will be a couple small parking areas on your left, and a set of stairs down to the beach. Now swim out around the point to the right and enter into Honolua bay, the coral reaches out to almost the mouth of the bay and it is amazing. I freedove this area for over three hours and could have kept going, I only saw the south side for the most part. There are some lava tube and coral mixtures that are quite pristine. Well worth the time if you are limited. There are a couple of my photos from Honolua Bay at www.amomentinblue.com
