beach dives?

I am certain this has been covered many times on the BBS but since I don't see it, I'll be the idiot who asks.

Looking for a decent, easy access beach dive in southern cal. I live in the SF valley so I'll be doing a little driving regardless. But i don't want to have to take the boat to Catalina everytime I want to shake out new gear.
