My suggestion are for LA county north are:

Deer Creek RD (PCH a few miles into Ventura County)
Leo Carrillo State Beach
Westward Beach (Pt Dume)
Escondido Beach

In the south bay;

Veteran Park (Redondo UW canyon)
Malaga Cove
Pt Vicente
Long point (Old Marineland)
White's point

I've had great beach dives at all these locations.
