This is due to commercial fisheries bycatch, ocean bottom degradation, processing, pollution impacts due to transportation, etc. Spearfishing while freediving is more a sportsman's endeavor than it is on scuba BUT not all spearfishers are fishing for sport. Many are fishing for dinner. Why make it more difficult to be eco-friendly? Debbie Karimoto
