Savino's is a fairly well known fishing spot out on the "Huntington Flats" if you're a fisherman or "San Pedro Shelf" if you're a geologist. It's mentioned in Captain Mark Wisch's excellent book "Between Two and Twenty Fathoms".

That said, don't fish there. There's hardly any life. The water is polluted with germs. All the fish that are there have parasites and the wind will always blow your boat parallel to the waves. STAY AWAY :-)

Cheers,
Ross-O
