Brad, most animals have some sort of fight or flee response ("fear") as part of survival. Abalone have a very dramatic fight or flee response. Just put a sunflower star near one if you want to see it.
That does not mean they experience other emotions. There is no evidence I know of that fish experience emotion. Although your anthropomorphisizing the behavior of fish may please your personal sensibility, there is no substantiation in fact for it.
