I love cold water for the color and amount of varied life. I would have to choose Washington or Maine. I also love wreck diving, so North Carolina would be my first choice there. Fortunately for me, my favorite dive destinations are right here in my backyard. We have wrecks and colorful life in California.
I've dived in Hawaii three times and while relaxing, I was bored after the first dive. The clear water and ability to dive in shorts and T-shirt was nice, but I'll stick to California, thank you. :)
