They range in depth from about 45 feet to nearly 80 feet and stand four to ten feet proud of the bottom. Typically visibility is pretty poor, but on some days the conditions allow great diving. We did a survey dive last weekend primarily looking for the bug population, and found none. Since we were diving the deeper reefs, I suspect that either the cold water has driven them shallow, or the recent south swell has driven them deeper – Can’t go wrong with that logic, right? ;-) Here is the F&G site with the lat/longs. http://www.dfg.ca.gov/mrd/artificialreefs/santamonica.pdf Enjoy.
