The Sheep Crabs can get to be quite large > 3 feet wide, with a carapice the size of a basketball. As previously mentioned, they are edible, but the shells are very thick. I would suggest that, if you want to try some, that you catch a big one and break off ONE claw to take home; the crab will grow a new leg.

Warning: this may be a violation of F&G rules as the crab can't be measured but I think it's better than killing one. I think all crabs taken must have a carapice at least 4" across.
