If you did not have a multi-day permit on board and filed with DFG then the minute you took your 8th lobster you broke the law. If you took limits friday night at opening (which really was Saturday morning) and took another limit before midnight on Saturday then even if you had a multi day permit, you broke the law. Without a multi-day permit from DFG you are allowed 7 per day, 7 in possession period. With the multi-day you were allowed to take 7 on Saturday and 7 on Sunday.
