It was a topic of conversation last week but I don't have time to look up a link. Basically, it was discussed that if you're on a boat, the lobster must remain measurable so you shouldn't "tail" them, but cook them whole and I suppose serve them whole, also. To get them home legally, you should not have cut them up but wrapped them up, still whole.
DFG must be able to measure the carapace if they inspect your boat, car, etc., and find lobster.
Next time you'll get it right!
