San Clemente if you can handle the long ass ride out there,(and back) the diving can be super fine. Catalina is your biggest bang for the buck though. Don't listen to these ho dads on here trying to sell the North Channels. There ain't nothing up there compared to down south.

Just go to Catalina. 2 hours out 2 back. Eagle reef. Giant Black Sea Bass at some places further North. I love Catalina and i've been diving for over 30 years. I hate being stuck on a boat for 7 hours just getting there. and you don't even know if the divings going to be worth it. FTS!

As far as the boats go.. Great Escape if Tim still runs it. Everyone else is just a poser. (haha) Seriously though Tim will make sure the diving is suitable for the skill level of the majority of divers aboard. Thats as it should be.

Have fun!!!
