Done much diving with black sea bass, Mike? There is pair formation and defense of mates. There are fish that form pair bonds for several years. Are you sure you know enough to make the statement you did? If not, it is as "bad" as a "sad" looking BSB (a bit anthropomorphic I agree, but I have seen males pissed off as could be when I attempt to "lure" their sweeties away!).
