Just to clarify - I believe I was told by a deckhand that the bad smell was caused by an OLD filter (not a new one), and that it's designed that way so you know that it needs to be changed. I don't know anything about compressors, so maybe someone can tell me if that's true or not.

Between the 2nd and 3rd dives, they changed the filter, and I didn't notice the smell anymore on my final dive.
