Many thanks for your well-conceived and -delivered observations on Capt. Tim and the Great Escape. The remarks of the obviously-naive dive "master" are truly unfortunate, particularly as other less-experienced divers might find credence in what he says he expects of a Southern California dive boat and trip. In any event, I believe Tim has had other similar (albeit thankfully-few) incidents relating to Sport Chalet charters, and is big enough to recognize that this is simply part of the price one pays when encountering occasionally a dreadfully-inexperienced dive "master" such as this fellow. (Similar experiences could most likely be voiced by other boat captains as well.) Meanwhile, the rest of us continue to recognize that there is no better boat captain in Southern California to whom we entrust our lives when we dive, and we shall continue to dive with the Great Escape.
