I'm not sure I'd call it a rival, but it will hurt their sales. What it really seems to do well is workflow in a manner more professional than iPhoto, and that's really missing. This may not be a photoshop competitor (for pros) but it does compete with Adobe Bridge and the single user version of Extensis Portfolio, stuff like that. But it will hurt photoshop sales; some people, like me, need workflow help more than photoshop help. I am still using photoshop 7, been thinking about CS2, but I'd rather buy this. On the other hand, if I spend less time sorting photos, that's more time for me to take them and edit them, so maybe I'll find myself really wanting CS 2. Looking forward to it. Hope it runs fast enough on my machine. It's certainly the most interesting piece of software I've seen this year.
