After each dive, take off your hood, and stand under the shower.
Tip your head to the side, fill your ear with water, and then
tip it the other way to drain. Repeat. Do the other ear.

This will get all the salt and fish shit out of your ear.
Salt is bad for two reasons:

1. It's an irritant.
2. It's hygroscopic, so your ear will never really dry out.

Fish shit should be obvious: it provides a real easy start for
bacteria.

The only time I ever had serious ear problems on a trip was one
trip I religiously used the alcohol and vinegar after each dive.

I do use 2 parts alcohol, one part vinegar occasionally.

Are you sure about the spellong of Donbarro? Google gets no
relevant hits. There is Domeboro, but Bayer, the maker, says
it's not for ears: http://www.bayercare.com/htm/bayerprint2006.htm

There is an Otic Something that the Navy came up with that's
supposed to be really good. Active ingreedents (IIRC) are
Boric Acid, an antibiotic, and something else. It's what my
cabin mate (Captain in the Navy Medical Corps) used on my ears
when I had the problem, and it seemed to help.
