Some people feel like they can act like jerks on the net because
they are anonymous. They would never behave that way at work,
on a dive boat, or in the corner bar.

We don't have these blow-ups on ba_diving. We require real first
and last names, and yahoogroups enforces real e-mail addresses
to register. A couple of hot-heads are moderated (one of the mods
has to approve their posts) and new members are moderated for
their first few posts, mostly to enforce the real names rule.
And we've banned one diver (and a bunch of spamsters) for life.

It's interesting that the hot-heads behave themselves when they
are on moderation. Their posts get approved as-is. Take them
off, and as soon as they figure it out, they are out of line
again.
