I joined Susan (coralcuts) and Frank O'Donnell (Frank-O) for an early morning dive at Nicholas Canyon Beach. There were a few surfers, but most went away disappointed in the low surf. Better for us. :D
We dropped down in about 20 feet and headed south toward the offshore kelp. I found my first Hilton's aeolid nudibranch and naturally didn't get any good pictures. The surge was present throughout the dive, but it was easily manageable. Hopefully Frank got some better pictures than I did. After about an hour we headed for the beach. Nobody was knocked down and we left most of the sand at the showers. Susan was able to take home two lobsters for a late Birthday dinner for her sister, and I got to remove one more nudi from my must find list.
