As a backpack convert, I'd want to dive this way (with horsecollar, wing, or nothing, as desired by the diver). There is absolutely nothing like the freedom and streamlined form afforded by that hardpack.

Also, see no reason a dry suit diver (which I will never be) couldn't dive sans BC as well, though I'll defer to the expertice and desires of this part of our dive community.
