Here are the results of the initial class survey, I was surprised personally by some of the results and honestly by the pure number of responses I received. 52 exceeded my expectations by... say 51 responses :)

As local divers people are very active with 54.1 dives per year, or a little over 1 dive per week. The avg length of diving of 10.2 years was also a surprise, of course a few people dragged that average up with responses of 45,40 and 37 years. I'm not sure why there is a big drop between year 2 and 5, a fair number of 5 and no responses in 6,9,10 and only 1 in 8 and 9. After 10 it picks up to be 3-4 per year up to 18/19.

Next items of interest is that 75% of us dive with friends and 31-38% dive with other family.

Finally, and the big thing to our dive shop buddies out there.. SERVICE, and of course at a good price :)

Initial responses seemed to indicate that long term divers stick with one shop, as the responses increased that went away and it looks fairly evenly distributed in terms of who perfers to shop where.

I want to thank everyone that responded and encourage you to respond to the next survey... I need to do another survey for class... I'll be glad when this is over and I can get back to diving on weekends.
