As the number of boats shrink, the prices will go up to where they equalize with demand. The owners will keep the boats that turn a desired profit. We can only hope that the better boats stick it out, losing the Encore is a disappointment. Losing something like the Great Escape would be a tragedy.

As much as I love a bargain, we are definitely spoiled by the comparatively cheap fares we enjoy and we ought to be paying more. Where else can you get a place to sleep, great food, 3 or 4 dives in world class conditions (though chilly) for around a hundred bucks a day?

Well, there's always the beach!
