We knew the boom was over when we'd make 80 bucks in tips for a 3 day trip. Thats 80 bucks spread out over 3 (17) hour work days. You can't get crew. The previous summer we'd make 250.00 each for a three dayer. The tips are what we live on because you make 75 a day in wages. By "a day" I mean all day and most of the night. Sorry folks, I love diving and working a dive boat but even I have to pay rent. Its over and thats probably for the best. Six packs, private charters, sail craft and beach diving are the wave of the future.
