Duncan Hunter is someone who needs to be voted out of office in the next election. Hopefully sounder minds will prevail as they did last time he proposed this. The military already has San Clemente and San Nicolas (and had San Miguel). I can see no reason for them to add Santa Rosa to their collection. If they did, I would shudder for the future of Catalina... and my home here. Nothing in the post is to be interpreted as suggesting I do not support our military personnel. I just wonder what rank one would have to be to enjoy Santa Rosa under Hunter's proposal. Admiral, General?
