If you are thinking about a mini-dvd videocamera, you should consider the amount of data you will be able to record on one mini-dvd. For what I've read, a traditional Digital Video Tape is a lot cheaper way of storing video. Tape can also store much more video than a mini-dvd.

If you want to make decent video you need a editing software, for example Pinnacle Studio Pro. To be able to edit your video, you will have to upload it to your PC. The edited video is easy to burn on dvd and much more comfortable to watch than a raw-version on mini dvd.

Correct me if I am wrong.
