The Simnia snail are occasional on the red gorgonians. Look for a
gorgonian with it's polyps pulled in. The Simnia are a relative
of the tropical Flamingo Tongues and Fingerprint Cyurnia (sp?).

About four years ago, I'd see a snail on about every fifth or tenth
gorgonian I checked up here. I haven't seen ANY in the last year
or two. Anybody know what's up?

There are also some little red shimp that turn up on the gorgonians
now and then.

You SoCal people are lucky to have shallow gorgonians. Up here they
are uncommon above 95 feet.
