One summer afternoon in the mid eighties i was (fishing:( in Ironbound Cove... up on the cliff was a herd of goats strung out for a hundred yards along the steep eastern wall. The lead goat took the entire herd on a trail that lead nowhere...It was so steep that there was no way for the lead goat to turn around... every goat had to turn around individually...i watched this intricate spectical play itself out for hours and in the beginning, i have to admit to moments of being distraught.

It took 4 hours, but every goat in the line did an about face and they all turned and followed their 'last-in-line' back down the cliff and safely out of the cove...

Thank you for the glympse of that island deer~
