I dove with Cortez Club in early June and I stayed right there at the hotel. I had no complaints about the hotel or the dive operation. There are some long boat rides to get to the dive sites (anywhere from 30 minutes to almost 2 hours in a Panga). But, it's fun and you never know what you'll see along the way. I heard that June isn't the best time for big animal encounters but I had my share. I swam with whale sharks, hammerheads, mantas, sea lions, etc. Visibility gets better later in the year but it really wasn't that bad. The worst was about 20 feet but that was the exception rather than the rule. El Bajo was about 80' vis. Don't expect coral reefs; there really aren't any. Make sure you get to El Bajo as that is where the action is!
